In Memory Of Timothy Sullivan - Founding Board Member
Timothy Sullivan a founding board member of Twin Tiers Honor Flight passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. Tim was a proud U S Air Force veteran serving four years of active duty during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Captain. He received his Bachelor of Arts, English degree from St. John's University and continued on to Xavier University where he earned his Master of Business Administration. He had a long career in Human Resources and served as head of Human Resources for a number of organizations including Thatcher Glass; the City of Elmira; Purolator Products; and Trayer Products. Tim was active in the Elmira community where he served on numerous boards besides Twin Tiers Honor Flight. These included CSS Workforce |
NY, Trinity of Chemung County, Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Capabilities, ARC, the Corning, Watkins Glen Job Service Employer Committee and NYS JSEC. He was also a candidate for mayor of the City of Elmira. Tim was a member of the Msgr. John J. Lee Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. It is fair to say that Twin Tiers Honor Flight would not exist without Tim's commitment, experience and desire to serve, particularly in the hub's formative years. We miss him greatly and remember him fondly.
